Glenfarg Community
Transport Group
Established by Glenfarg Community Council to look at improving transport in and around the village of Glenfarg, and reduce dependence on the motor car, the Group has five areas of activity: The 55, The Community Bus, School Transport & Active Travel: Walking & Wheeling.
We are members of the Community Transport Association who define community transport as ‘flexible and accessible community-led solutions in response to unmet local transport needs, and often represents the only means of transport for many vulnerable and isolated people, often older people or people with disabilities. Organisations should always be for a social purpose and never for profit’.
Glenfarg – The 55 Bus
The service operates a flexi-route, “wiggling” off the main route to serve smaller communities -like Duncrievie – and local businesses such as the Village Inn and Caulder’s Garden Centre.
The 23 Kinross – Tillicoultry
Connections will be possible at Tiilicoultry to and from Stirling and Alloa, to mainline bus services at the Kinross Park & Ride and to services at Perth Bus Station and Railway Sation.
Glenfarg Community Bus
A team of around 15 enthusiastic volunteer drivers take villagers to a wide range of destinations for various purposes. Shopping, theatre, cultural & sporting outings.
Glenfarg School Transport
This bus carries children from the surrounding area to Arngask Primary School in the morning and takes them home in the afternoon.
